Birth Records
Birth records for births occurring in Bay County are available beginning the year of 1868.  In order for the birth record to be on file in Bay County, the birth must have occurred in Bay County.

Birth certificates are not public records, they are confidential records and available only to the person or parents of the person named on that record. Additional documentation will be required of applicants stating they are an heir, legal guardian or legal representative of the person named on the record.

A current valid driver's license or state issued ID, for identification purposes, is required for birth certificate requests.

Effective January 1, 2007, certified copies, with the raised seal, are $14.00 for the first copy. Each additional certified copy of the same record, requested at the same time is an additional $3.00.  If the date of birth is not known, please add $1.00 per year search fee.

Bay County residents, age 60 and older, who appear in person at the Bay County Clerk's office receive a free certified copy of their birth certificate compliments of the Bay County Clerk.

In order to request a birth certificate for someone other than yourself, your child or your legal ward, written permission authorizing you to request the record must be obtained from the person on the record or the parent, legal guardian or legal representative of the person on the record.

The request shall include the name and date of birth of the person on the record, name of the person to whom the record is to be released and signature of the requestor. If the requestor is the legal guardian or legal representative, copies of those documents are required. In addition, a photocopy of the requestor's photo identification is required.

The person designated on the request to obtain the record is required to sign the request at the county clerk's office and provide photo identification.
