Emerald Ash Borer Treatment Complete
Treatments to control Gypsy Moth caterpillars and Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) are complete for the 2019 season. On May 24th, treatment was completed to control outbreak level populations of gypsy moth caterpillars. The weather was perfect and spray operations in Gibson and Kawkawlin Townships went smoothly. Preliminary surveys show that the treatment was effective and has protected the trees.
Treatment to protect ash trees from EAB is complete here in Bay County. The application firm had two crews that worked 6 ten hour days to complete the tree injections between June 10th and 15th. Trees will be monitored throughout the summer to evaluate their continued health.
