Bay County Executive Proclamation - May 28th, 2019 as Dylan Paul Day

Yesterday, County Executive Jim Barcia recognized Dylan Paul with an Official Proclamation designating May 28, 2019 as Dylan Paul Day in Bay County. Sheriff Troy Cunningham and the Board of Commissioners participated in the presentation.


Dylan Paul, an 11-year-old student at All Saints Elementary in Bay City, successfully performed the life-saving Heimlich maneuver on his teacher, who was choking on a piece of food.

Bay County is proud of Dylan for his quick, calm and life-saving heroic action!

 

Proclamation Text:

WHEREAS Dylan Paul is an 11-year-old student attending Karen Renko’s fifth grade class at Bay City All Saints Central Elementary School; and

WHEREAS Dylan, on May 6, 2019, did show extraordinary poise and composure under stressful circumstances in executing the life-saving Heimlich maneuver on Ms. Renko, effectively saving her life; and

WHEREAS Bay County applauds the heroic actions of this fine young man and wishes to highlight the importance of all Bay County residents, both children and adults, learning these essential safety measures;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jim Barcia, Bay County Executive, do hereby proclaim May 28, 2019, as

Dylan Paul Day.
