Coronavirus Update - Press Conference to Follow 4:00 PM Board of Commissioners Meeting Today

Bay County, Michigan - A press conference will be held today, March 17, 2020, directly following the 4:00 PM Personnel/Human Services Board meeting and subsequent Board of Commissioners Special Board Meeting. The Press Conference will begin directly following these meetings at the Bay County Community Center, 800 John F. Kennedy Drive, Bay City, Michigan 48706. Updates and information on the current state of the coronavirus in Bay County will be provided by Public Health Director Joel Strasz, County Executive Jim Barcia and Board Chairman Michael Duranczyk.

County Executive Jim Barcia will announce his declaration of a Local State of Emergency for Bay County.

In order to reduce the spread of COVID-19, please follow these recommendations from the Center of Disease Control:

1. Wash your hands often with soap and water or use hand sanitizer.
2. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
3. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing.
4. Avoid handshakes.
5. Avoid contact with people who are sick.
6. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
7. IF YOU ARE SICK, STAY HOME.
