Bay City Area Transportation Study (BCATS) 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) Update; Public Comment Period and Open House

The Bay City Area Transportation Study (BCATS) is seeking public comment on the proposed 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) Update. The MTP is a twenty-year forecast for projected road, bridge, transit, and non-motorized transportation projects, as well as other regionally significant projects. It also provides information about regional transportation-related trends, such as socioeconomics, travel demand, and intermodal inventory. The 30-day public comment period is July 4, 2022 thru August 2, 2022. You may also view the proposed 2045 MTP Update on the Bay County website at www.baycounty-mi.gov/transportation. The public is encouraged to submit written comments to BCATS by emailing them to Dominic Pavone, Bay County Transportation Planner/GIS Manager at pavoned@baycounty.net, or by mail to 515 Center Avenue, Suite 504, Bay City, MI 48708. Please submit your comments by no later than August 2, 2022.

An Open House to discuss the 2045 MTP Update will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 3:30p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Kantzler Community Room inside the Alice & Jack Wirt Public Library located at 500 Center Ave, Bay City, MI 48708.

Copies of the proposed 2045 MTP Update are available for review at the Transportation Planning Office in the Bay County Environmental Affairs and Community Development Department which is located on the 5th Floor of the Bay County Building, 515 Center Avenue, Bay City, MI 48708.

A Public Hearing to adopt the 2045 MTP Update will be held during the regularly scheduled August 17, 2022 BCATS Policy Committee Meeting at 1:30 p.m. in the 2nd Floor Conference Room of the Bay County Building located at 515 Center Avenue, Bay City, MI 48708.
