Expansion of Access of COVID-19 Vaccine in Bay County

Bay County, Michigan - The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) announced it is expanding vaccine eligibility for those 50 years of age and older with medical conditions and disabilities, as well as caregiver family members and guardians who care for children with special health care needs starting Monday, March 8, 2021. Further, MDHHS has expanded eligibility to everyone over the age of 50 beginning on Monday, March 22, 2021.

The Bay County Health Department is asking our residents that are 50 years of age and older to fill out the Registration Survey for the COVID-19 Vaccine as soon as possible. If you do not have access to the internet, you may register by calling 989-308-1828 to leave a message and a Bay County employee will return your call to register you for the vaccine.

There are still people in the 65 and older population in Bay County who have registered for a vaccine appointment and have not yet been contacted. The Bay County Health Department will continue to prioritize registrants 65 years of age and older. The BCHD will provide scheduling opportunities to those in the 50+ age group as vaccine supply allows. Vaccine supply is increasing but still does not meet the demand in our community. Vaccine supply is expected to continue to increase in the coming weeks.

Please do your part and help minimize the spread of COVID-19. For the latest and most accurate information regarding the COVID-19 please go to the Bay County Health Department website at https://www.baycounty-mi.gov/Health/COVID19/.
