Emerald Ash Borer Treatment Starts June 10, 2019
Treatments to control Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) will be done by direct injection of an insecticide into publicly owned ash trees in parks and along city streets between June 10, 2019 and June 30, 2019. Treatment of each tree is estimated to take from fifteen minutes up to three hours. The 2019 EAB Treatment Project will treat 1071 ash trees which will protect the trees from EAB for three (3) years.
Specific areas included in the 2019 treatment project are located in the south-east quarter of Bay City (east of the Saginaw River, south of Columbus Avenue), Portsmouth and Merritt Township parks, and the Bay County Golf Course. Other geographic areas will be done in future years. Maps that show the trees to be treated and labeling for the Tree-age product may be viewed on the Bay County webpage at:https://www.baycounty-mi.gov/GypsyMoth or by visiting the Gypsy Moth Suppression Program office located on the 5th floor of the Bay County Building, 515 Center Avenue, Bay City, MI 48708.
