Dental Clinic Coming Soon

mcdc logoIn November of 2017, the Bay County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to authorize a contract between the Bay County Health Department and My Community Dental Centers (MCDC) of Michigan. The agreement will allow MCDC to develop and open a four to six-chair facility that can serve approximately 2,000 to 3,500 persons in need of dental care in Bay County. The addition of such a dental center in Bay County enhances access to dental care for seniors, Medicaid recipients, and low-income residents within the County.

MCDC is a not-for-profit organization that operates nearly 40 dental centers in cooperation with local public health departments in the State of Michigan. MCDC’s focus is on providing services to Medicaid recipients and low-income uninsured persons and will also accept commercially insured products. MCDC also offers a sliding fee schedule and the MyDental Plan for those without dental coverage or for those services not covered by a dental plan.

MCDC provides preventive care, which includes exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, X-rays, sealants, restorative care (fillings, crowns, and bridges), oral surgery (extractions and pre-prosthetic surgery), and removable appliances (complete and partial dentures, endodontic services, and periodontal services). It is anticipated that the dental clinic will open in late 2018.
