Notice of Public Review - Bay County Recreation Plan

Bay County and 14 municipalities in Bay County have developed a joint Five-Year Parks & Recreation Master Plan. The communities involved in the multi-jurisdictional plan are: City of Auburn, Bangor Charter Township, Bay City, Bay County, Beaver Township, City of Essexville, Frankenlust Township, Fraser Township, Hampton Charter Township, Kawkawlin Township, Merritt Township, Monitor Charter Township, City of Pinconning, Portsmouth Charter Township, and Williams Charter Township. The plan evaluates existing recreation opportunities, reviews public opinion regarding recreation, develops goals and objectives for parks and recreation in the communities and it outlines an action plan for improvements and other related items that the County and participating communities wish to pursue.

Copies of the Draft Plan will be available for review at the locations listed below until January 8, 2019.

  • Pinconning Branch Library, 218 S. Kaiser St., Pinconning

If you are interested in submitting comments regarding the Draft Plan, or would like more information, please send comments to the address listed below by January 8, 2014. A public meeting to take input on the draft plan will be held as part of the Bay County Board of Commissioners meeting on January 8, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at the Bay County Building, 515 Center Avenue, 4th floor Commissioners Chambers, Bay City.
