Bay County Health Department Immunization Clinic

Press Release - For Immediate Release

BAY CITY, Mich., October 10, 2016 - The Bay County Health Department will hold the following community flu vaccination clinics for the public. All clinics will be held at the Bay County Health Department.

  • Friday, October 21, 2016 - *8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
  • Friday, October 28, 2016  - *8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. 
  • Friday, November 4, 2016 - *8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. 
  • Friday, November 18, 2016 - *8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
*Flu vaccines will be provided throughout the lunch hour.

The CDC recommends that everyone six months of age and older receive theflu vaccine.

  • Flu is a respiratory infection that peaks between October and March. Thevaccine provides protection that will last throughout the entire Flu season.
  • Some people, such as young children, pregnant women and older adults,especially those with certain health conditions are at high risk forcomplications from the Flu.
  • You may not be considered at high risk for complications from the flu,however if you have contact with young children or older adults you may want toconsider receiving the flu vaccine to protect you, so that you do not pass theflu onto them, especially infants 6 months and younger and others who are noteligible to receive the flu vaccine.
  • Bay County's flu vaccine for adults will protect you from 4 Flu strains thatare circulating this year.

Those allergic to chicken eggs, have experienced an allergicreaction to flu vaccines in the past, or who have had Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) should talk with their doctor about other ways to prevent getting the flu. If you are ill with a fever (i.e. atemperature of 100 degree) you should wait until your symptoms pass to getvaccinated.

WHAT TO BRING: All medical health insurance cards includingMedicare, Medicaid, & private insurance, and a driver’s license or MichiganID. If you do not have health insurance, the cost of the vaccine is $25.00. Costmay be determined based on income.
