This site is a former dry cleaner.  Since 2015, corrective actions have been taken, which include the removal of underground storage tanks (USTs) as well as the removal of asbestos, concrete, contaminated soil building material and asphalt.  Some contamination MAY remain on the property.

In order to be protected from liability for the remaining contamination, new owners or operators should conduct a Baseline Environmental Assessment (BEA) and submit it to the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE).  A BEA must be conducted prior to or within 45 days after becoming the owner or operator.  Bidders may choose to contact an environmental professional before purchasing this property.  Because this is a contaminated property, future owners and operators will have due care obligations.  EGLE guidance regarding BEAs and Due Care may be found here and here.
