COVID Vaccine Booster Shot Information

 

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its booster recommendations to everyone 5 years and older to receive a bivalent booster shot at least 2 months after completing their Pfizer primary series (or previous booster dose).

The Moderna COVID-19 vaccine bivalent booster shot is recommended for those 6 years and older and who were vaccinated at least 2 months after completing their either the Pfizer or Moderna primary series (or previous booster dose).

If you received the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine as your primary series at least 2 months ago, you may choose between either the Pfizer or Moderna bivalent booster shot.

As of 11/23/2022, only the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine (and bivalent booster) is available from the Bay County Health Department.
