Mosquito Control Tire Drive

Help clean up the environment and bring in your scrap tires for free disposal.  Getting rid of scrap tires around your home will eliminate mosquito breeding sites in your neighborhood.

Bay County Mosquito Control will host a scrap tire drive Saturday, August 8, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Fraser Township Hall, 1474 N. Mackinaw Rd., Linwood, MI  48634 (on the corner of Kitchen Road).  Each Bay County residence may bring up to 10 rimless regular passenger car or pick-up tires.  No semi or tractor tires will be accepted from commercial businesses or farm operations.

In response to the ongoing pandemic of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), procedures for collecting tires during the August 8 scrap tire drive will look different than they have in the past. When dropping off tires, county residents must verbally verify Bay County residence. They will then be required to unload their own tires onto a tire pile. If the resident needs help removing tires from their vehicle to the tire pile, staff will be available to help, but will maintain physical distancing.

The scrap tire drive is funded in part by a Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) Scrap Tire Clean Up Grant.
