Learn how to be a National Weather Service Skywarn Weather Spotter

Learn how to report weather phenomena and more importantly, learn what kind of weather to report and when to report it.

The class is free and open to the public, and will be held Monday April 17, 2017 from 7 – 8:30 p.m. at the Bay-Arenac ISD Career Center, 4155 Monitor Rd.

Tornadoes, flash floods, hail, windstorms and lightning/thunderstorms are all natural occurrences over which we have no control. With your help, we can provide the precious time needed to inform the community of severe weather.

Anyone interested in learning more about becoming a Skywarn - Severe Weather Spotter, and how to report severe weather should attend this class. First responders, schools, day cares, nursing homes and senior centers are all recommended to have a representative attend the Weather Spotter training.

If you are interested in attending or for more information contact Ryan Manz of the Bay County Emergency Management Division and ask to register for the class. The Registration deadline is: April 14th, 2017.
