There are age requirements for some youth programs. Please contact organization for further information. MSU Extension provides information and programs in three areas: children, youth and family, including 4-H youth programs; community and economic development; agriculture and natural resources. These programs help people better understand their environment, make the best possible use of their resources, and enhance the quality of life for themselves, their families and their communities. Bay County's Successful Futures Program, which serves families with children 0-3 years old, is jointly housed in the Bay County Extension and Bay County Health Department.

Serves Bay County. Provides information to farmers and agricultural industries on pesticides, crop varieties, soil, environmental conservation, and farm business management. Collects soil test samples for farmers. Provides information and education to homeowners and service providers on fruit and vegetable gardening, lawn care and maintenance, landscaping, weed, insect and disease control, flowers, trees and shrubbery. Provides information, education and technical assistance to local community leaders. Provides leadership training for township officers, youth group volunteers, and other community residents. Provides information to families on money and resource management, family relationships, parent education and child development, housing, home ownership and maintenance, food and nutrition, consumer education. Sponsors 4-H Clubs for young people, ages 5-19. Provides educational programs for youth on the environment, citizenship. Sponsors summer international and cross-cultural exchange program for youth. Sponsors horseback riding for handicapped youth. Provides individual responses to homemaker and homeowner questions. Provides educational publications in areas of agriculture and natural resources, horticulture, community and economic development, home economics. Provides technology resources and programs, such as a computer training lab. Provides a counselor for breast feeding mothers. Provides conference rooms for community use. Provides Satellite Downlink for organizations and businesses.
