Soil Testing

What can you do to improve water quality in the Saginaw Bay Area?  Actually quite a bit.  The Bay Area Storm Water Authority and Bay County Drain Commissioner are working to reduce the amount of harmful phosphorus entering the rivers and streams that flow into the Saginaw Bay.

One way to do this is by having your soil tested to make sure you are not over fertilizing your lawn or garden.  This spring we are offering free soil sampling to area residents to show them exactly what must be added to keep their lawn and garden healthy.  One per household please. If you would like additional soils sampled, the MSU Extension Office can assist you with that.

Let's get started.
