In-Home Caregiver Training Program

The Bay County Division on Aging is accepting referrals for its In-Home Caregiver Training Program.  The program enables staff from the Division on Aging to work with the caregiver of someone who needs physical care or regular supervision in the home setting.  The Division on Aging has resource materials, including audio tapes, videotapes, and guides that can be reviewed in the home setting with the caregiver.  In order to enroll in the program, at least one individual in the situation must be over age 60, either the caregiver or the care receiver.  At least one person in the situation should be a Bay County resident.

The Division on Aging has produced a Caregiver Training Guide, which is provided free upon the first in-home visit.  The guide includes information on a variety of helpful topics, and includes an appendix of resource information.

To make a referral to the program, please call the Bay County Division on Aging and request that a referral be made to the In-Home Caregiver Training Program.  Please place the request in the caregiver's name, and provide information on the best time we can reach the caregiver to set up an appointment.
