The Community Center was developed jointly by the State of Michigan, City of Bay City, and County of Bay. Now operated by the County of Bay, the Community Center offers recreational facilities, and provides an excellent location for basketball, volleyball, and other team sports. A smaller, multi-purpose sized gymnasium is suitable for basketball and large gatherings such as wedding showers, trade shows, and card tournaments. Meeting rooms of various sizes can accommodate groups of any size ranging up to 240 people. A modern, well kept kitchen facility can provide space for food preparation for that special event.
Every summer the Community Center hosts a summer recreation program for area youth. Young people enjoy many social building skills, make new friends, and enjoy fun activities like arts and crafts, sports, and field trips. |

Looking for a new and exciting way to get a little exercise? The Bay County Community Center is now offering pickleball!
Pickleball is explained by the USA Pickleball Association as a, "fun game that is played on a badminton court with the net lowered to 34 inches at the center. It is played with a perforated plastic baseball (similar to a whiffle ball) and wood or composite paddles. It is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players."
Our pickleball players have given the game rave reviews so far! It is a perfect game for people of all ages and all skill levels. Come check it out for yourself!

The Community Center swimming pool is seasonal, generally open from mid-June through mid-August. Swim lessons are offered in the morning and early evening. Other times the pool is open for public swimming. A handicap ramp makes the pool accessible for all users. Pool staff can provide assistance as needed and the center maintains a wheelchair suitable for use in the pool.
