Need to get to one of the Bay County facilities, but don't know how to get there? Bay County Government and services are not all housed in one place. So, for your convenience, we have detailed the directions and provided color maps to help you find where you want to go. Check out the maps and directions below.
This page contains detailed driving directions for visitors to the following Bay County facilities:
From the North/South:
From I-75, take M-25 east-bound (Exit 162A) into Bay City. This becomes a one-way (Thomas St.) as you enter town. Remain on Thomas, in the middle lane, through the west side of Bay City. When you approach Veteran's Memorial Bridge, the Thomas' left-hand lane will be forced to turn. The middle lane on Thomas becomes the left-hand lane on Vet's Bridge. After crossing the Saginaw River, proceed to your destination:
- Bay County Building -- Proceed to the third light (Madison Avenue) and turn left. Proceed to the second light (Center Avenue). The Bay County Building is located at the corner of Center and Madison. Short-term parking is available in front of the building, on Center Avenue. Long-term parking and deliveries are at the rear of the building, off of Fifth Street.
- Bay County Court Facility -- Proceed to the second light (Washington Avenue) and turn left. Drive through the downtown district seven blocks. The Bay County Court Facility is located on your right, directly across the street from the Empire Theater. Note that the entrance to the Court Facility is located at the east end of the building. Public parking is available in front of the building.
- Bay County Health Department -- Proceed to the second light (Washington Avenue) and turn left. Drive through the downtown district seven blocks. The Bay County Health Department is located on your right, directly across the street from the Empire Theater. Note that the entrance to the Health Department is located at the west end of the building (closest to Washington Avenue.) Public parking is available in front of the building.
- Bay County Law Enforcement Center -- Proceed to the third light (Madison Avenue) and turn left. Proceed six blocks to Third Street, turning left on Third. The Law Enforcement Center will be on your right. Public parking is available in front of the building.
From the West:
Take M-25 eastbound, crossing I-75 and entering Bay City. This becomes a one-way (Thomas St.) as you enter town. Remain on Thomas, in the middle lane, through the west side of Bay City. When you approach Veteran's Memorial Bridge, the Thomas' left-hand lane will be forced to turn. The middle lane on Thomas becomes the left-hand lane on Vet's Bridge. After crossing the Saginaw River, proceed to your destination as described above.
From the East:
Take M-25 into the Bay City-Essexville metropolian area. This becomes Center Avenue as you pass through the Historic Homes district and near downtown Bay City. The first landmark in the downtown area is the Bay County Building itself; an eight-story structure located at the corner of Center and Madison Avenues.
- Bay County Building -- Short-term parking is available in front of the building, on Center Avenue. Long-term parking is available behind the building, off of Fifth Street.
- Bay County Court Facility -- From Center and Madison, continue into the downtown district, to the second light (Washington Avenue.) Turn right onto Washington. Proceed three blocks north on Washington. The Court Facility is located on the right hand side of the street, directly across from the Empire Theater. Parking is available in front of the building. Note that the entrance to the Court Facility is at the east end of the building.
- Bay County Health Department -- From Center and Madison, continue into the downtown district, to the second light (Washington Avenue.) Turn right onto Washington. Proceed three blocks north on Washington. The Health Department is located on the right hand side of the street, directly across from the Empire Theater. Parking is available in front of the building. Note that the entrance to the Health Department is at the west end of the building.
- Bay County Law Enforcement Center -- From Center and Madison, turn right onto Madison Avenue. Proceed three blocks, to Third Street and turn left on Third. The Law Enforcement Center is located on the right hand side of the street. Parking is available in front of the building.

The departmental facilities for Animal Control and Mosquito Control are both located on the Bay County Fairgrounds. Using the following directions for all three locations:
From the North or South:
Take I-75 to Exit 160A -- the US-10/M-25 exchange. Proceed east into Bay City. This becomes a one-way (Thomas Street) as you enter town. Remain eastbound in the center lane of Thomas Street through three lights (Euclid Avenue, Wenona Street, and Henry Street) and over Veteran's Memorial Bridge. Note that the center lane of Thomas becomes the left-hand lane on the bridge. After crossing the bridge, proceed in the left-hand lane to the third light (Madison Avenue). Turn left on Madison and proceed north in the right-hand lane to the second light (Center Avenue). Turn right on Center Avenue. Proceed east on Center in the left-hand lane through the Historic Homes District, to the fifth light (Livingston Street). Turn left onto Livingston, just before Pizza Hut. There are two entrances to the Fair Grounds on the right. The first entrance provides access to the Animal Control and Mosquito Control facilties. The second entrance provides access to the Fair Grounds directly.
From the East:
Take M-25 (Center Avenue) west into the Essexville-Bay City area. Just before departing the Essexville business district, turn right at the light (Livingston Avenue), just after Pizza Hut.There are two entrances to the Fair Grounds on the right. The first entrance provides access to the Animal Control and Mosquito Control facilties. The second entrance provides access to the Fair Grounds directly.
From the West:
Take US-10/M-25 east-bound into Bay City. This becomes a one-way (Thomas Street) as you enter town. Remain eastbound in the center lane of Thomas Street through three lights (Euclid Avenue, Wenona Street, and Henry Street) and over Veteran's Memorial Bridge. Note that the center lane of Thomas becomes the left-hand lane on the bridge. After crossing the bridge, proceed in the left-hand lane to the third light (Madison Avenue). Turn left on Madison and proceed north in the right-hand lane to the second light (Center Avenue). Turn right on Center Avenue. Proceed east on Center in the left-hand lane through the Historic Homes District, to the fifth light (Livingston Street). Turn left onto Livingston, just before Pizza Hut. Take I-75 south to exit 162 (Wilder Road). Proceed east on Wilder Road in the right-hand lane through two lights (Two Mile Road and Euclid Avenue). After crossing Wilder Road, turn right on Shrestha Drive, just after the Chevrolet dealership. Shrestha Drive leads directly to the Civic Arena.
From the South:
Take I-75 north to exit 162 (Wilder Road). Proceed east on Wilder Road in the right-hand lane through two lights (Two Mile Road and Euclid Avenue). After crossing Wilder Road, turn right on Shrestha Drive, just after the Chevrolet dealership. Shrestha Drive leads directly to the Civic Arena.
From the East:
Take M-25 (Center Avenue) west through Essexville into Bay City. At the third light after leaving Essexville, turn right onto Trumbull Street. Proceed north on Trumbull, crossing Woodside Avenue. Trumbull becomes Harry S. Truman Parkway. Proceed over Independence Bride. HS Truman Parkway becomes Wilder Road. Proceed west on Wilder Road through three lights (Bangor Road, State Street, and Henry Street/State Park Drive). After State Park Drive, turn left onto Shrestha Drive, just before the Chevrolet dealership. Shrestha Drive leads directly to the Civic Arena.
From the West:
Take US-10/M-25 east bound into Bay City. This becomes a one-way (Thomas Street) as you enter town. At the first light (Euclid Avenue), turn left. Proceed north on Euclid Avenue through four lights (Jenny Street, Midland Avenue, North Union Street, and North Kiesel Road). After passing Kiesel Road, turn right on Shrestha Drive, just after the bowling alley.

From the North or South:
From I-75, take exit 160A (US-10/M-25) east bound into Bay City. This becomes a one-way (Thomas Street) as you enter town. At the first light (Euclid Avenue), turn left. Proceed north in the right-hand lane on Euclid to the second light (Midland Avenue). Turn right on Midland and proceed east in the right-hand land. Proceed straight through the light at Wenona. After Sage Public Library (on your right) you will have to make a quick right into the Midland Avenue Business District. Continue through the business district's one light (Henry Street) and down toward the river. After the last of the business district buildings and parking areas, make a right-hand turn onto John F. Kennedy Drive, entering Veteran's Memorial Park. Proceed south on John F. Kennedy Drive under Veterans Memorial Bridge. The Community Center will be on the right, shortly after the bridge.
From the East:
Take M-25 (Center Avenue) into the Essexville-Bay City metropolitan area. After leaving the Essexville business district, continue west on Center through the Historic Homes District. At the sixth light (Madison Avenue -- landmark at this intersection is the Bay County Building on the northwest corner) turn left. Proceed south on Madison Avenue in the right hand land to the first light (Seventh Street). Turn right on Seventh Street. Proceed west on Seventh Street in the right-hand lane through the downtown district and onto Veteran's Memorial Bridge. Proceed as follows:
Spring/Summer/Autumn
During these season you may generally use the Veteran's Memorial Park off-ramp from the bridge. The off-ramp is accessed from the right-hand lane on the bridge, and begins immediate after crossing the Saginaw River. (Be aware that the off-ramp may be closed to traffic during summer festival events including: Fourth of July Fireworks Display, Pig Gig, River Roar, and the Tall Ships Festival. See alternate route, below.) At the bottom of the ramp, make a hard left turn under the bridge and continue south to the Community Center.
Alternate Route (Off-Ramp Closed)
Follow the main traffic flow off of the bridge to the light at the bottom of the main off-ramp (Henry Street). Turn right onto Henry Street. Proceed north on Henry in the right-hand land to the first light (Midland Avenue). Turn right on Midland Avenue. Continue through the Midland Avenue Business District business district's and down toward the river. After the last of the business district buildings and parking areas, make a right-hand turn onto John F. Kennedy Drive, entering Veteran's Memorial Park. Proceed south on John F. Kennedy Drive under Veterans Memorial Bridge. The Community Center will be on the right, shortly after the bridge.
From the West:
Take US-10/M-25 east bound into Bay City. This becomes a one-way (Thomas Street) as you enter town. At the first light (Euclid Avenue), turn left. Proceed north in the right-hand lane on Euclid to the second light (Midland Avenue). Turn right on Midland and proceed east in the right-hand land. Proceed straight through the light at Wenona. Proceed north in the right-hand lane of Madison Avenue to the second light (Center Avenue/M-25). Turn right on Center Avenue. Proceed east through the Historic Homes District and the Essexville business district. Approximately one mile after the last light in the business district (Pine Road -- landmark is McDonalds on the southeast corner), turn left on Knight Road. Proceed approximately one mile north on Knight Road, turning left onto West Hampton Road. The golf course is on the north side of Hampton Road.
From the East:
Take M-25 west toward but not into Essexville. Approximately one mile before the Essexville business district, turn right on Knight Road. Proceed approximately one mile north on Knight Road, turning left onto West Hampton Road. The golf course is on the north side of Hampton Road.
From the West:
Take US-10/M-25 east bound into Bay City. This becomes a one-way (Thomas Street) as you enter town. Proceed east in the middle lane of Thomas Street through two lights (Wenona Street and Henry Street), crossing Veteran's Memorial Bridge. Note that the middle lane of the Thomas becomes the left-hand land on the bridge. Proceed east to the third light after the bridge (Madison Avenue). Turn left on Madison. Proceed north in the right-hand lane of Madison Avenue to the second light (Center Avenue/M-25). Turn right on Center Avenue. Proceed east through the Historic Homes District and the Essexville business district. Approximately one mile after the last light in the business district (Pine Road -- landmark is McDonalds on the southeast corner), turn left on Knight Road. Proceed approximately one mile north on Knight Road, turning left onto West Hampton Road. The golf course is on the north side of Hampton Road.

Take I-75 to exit 181. Proceed east on Pinconning Road through the community of Pinconning. Pinconning Park lies directly on the Saginaw Bay at the end of Pinconning Road.
From the East:
Take M-25 (Center Avenue) west bound into the Essexville-Bay City metropolitan area. After the Essexville business district, proceed west on Center avenue to the sixth light (Madison Avenue). Turn left onto Madison. Proceed south in the right-hand land of on Madison Avenue, turning right at the first light (Seventh Street). Proceed east on Seventh Street through the downtown district and over Veteran's Memorial Bridge. (Note that Seventh Street becomes Jenny Street on the west side of the river.) Proceed west on Jenny Street through three lights (Henry Street at the bottom of the bridge, Wenona Street, and Euclid Avenue) and out of Bay City. At the US-10/M-25 exchange with I-75, take I-75 northbound. Proceed north on I-75 to exit 181. Proceed east on Pinconning Road through the community of Pinconning. Pinconning Park lies directly on the Saginaw Bay at the end of Pinconning Road.
From the West:
Take US-10/M-25 east bound toward Bay City, making the exchange onto northbound I-75. Proceed north on I-75 to exit 181. Proceed east on Pinconning Road through the community of Pinconning. Pinconning Park lies directly on the Saginaw Bay at the end of Pinconning Road.
